UNISOC Launches RTOS Flagship Platform W337 with Exponentially Improved Performance

2024-12-31

UNISOC recently releases its flagship RTOS-based chip W337, boasting a wide variety of features and ultra-low power consumption. W337 further strengthens UNISOC's smart wearable product portfolio and provides advanced technology solutions for the broad mid-to-high end smart wearable market.

Powerful RTOS Wearable Chips with Outstanding Performance

Dual-core CPU architecture: The UNISOC W337 is the first dual-core CPU architecture based on the RTOS system, being able to dynamically adjust power consumption collaborating with the system load and being able to reduce the frequency and voltage of one or two cores when system load is low. With two cores sharing the load, the heat generation of each core is relatively low, which further reduces the overall heat dissipation needs. The dual-core architecture better realizes the load balancing, the flexible task distribution between cores and the system’s robustness.

Integrated independent 3D GPU: The 3D GPU features excellent parallel processing capabilities and specialized graphics rendering functions, which can render highly realistic three-dimensional images, dramatically improving image rendering, image effects, texture processing, lighting and shadow effects. Its speed and effectiveness for anti-aliasing and other image data offer users a more vivid and intuitive visual experience, improving the overall system performance and responsiveness. In addition, the 3D GPU is equipped with a wide variety of development tools and libraries, making it easy for developers to quickly build efficient, stable graphic image applications.

Stronger performance for faster response: The UNISOC W337 features a dual-core A53 with a maximum frequency of 1.4GHz, doubling the performance of the previous generation of single-core CPUs. With its multi-core software scheduling optimization technology, the UNISOC W337 enables significant improvement in the efficiency of data exchange and coordination between cores, providing higher processing power and faster response speeds.

Advanced scalability and integration: The dual-core architecture of the UNISOC W337 provides more computing resources, supports multi-tasking and makes system expansion and upgrading easier and more convenient. Supported by dual-core, the W337 supports live communication and can run smoothly even in processing with multimedia scenarios, such as video recording and video playback. The W337 is highly integrated with dual-core CPU, GPU, ISP, Display, Video, Audio, WCN and security modules, while its Memory is packaged in a SiP package.

HD Dual Camera: The UNISOC W337 supports front and rear true dual camera, with the ISP algorithm upgraded to version 4.0, which is more accurate in the processing of color and exposure, and finer in the processing of detailed texture and noise. It also supports 720P video recording and face recognition, making video recordings clearer and more vivid.

Continuously Creating RTOS Wearable Ecosystems and Enriching Applications

UNISOC W337 is the flagship product for the RTOS system on the current wearable platform. With a lightweight system kernel, UNISOC's RTOS wearable platform can provide the terminal product the significant advantage of ultra-long endurance, while also supporting APPs like Himalaya, health code, Alipay, Baidu cloud, etc. It offers a variety of ecosystems, creating a more independent, longer- endurance, smarter, and friendlier wearable experience for consumers.

The W337 maintains the advantages of the RTOS low power consumption while bringing a varied experience comparable to Android, providing advanced solutions for the huge mid-to-high-end wearable market since July 2024.

Up to now, UNISOC has formed two product series based on the Android OS system and UNISOC RTOS system according to the different needs (see the figure below). Devices equipped with UNISOC's wearable chips have been widely used by people in all ages.
